Xue-Yong Li, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), visited ION on May 20, 2007, accompanied by Xiao-Fang Wang (Director-General, Department of Development Planning, MOST), Xian-En Zhang (Director-General, Department of Basic Research, MOST), Yan-He Ma (Director-General, Department of Social Development, MOST), Yi-Ping Li (Director, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality), Zi-Qi Shou (Deputy Director, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality), Kai-Xian Chen (Party Secretary of SIBS) and Gang Pei (President of SIBS).

ION faculty members hosted their visit. After listening to a brief introduction about recent progress and issues at ION, Minister Li visited the Laboratory of Neural Circuits and Animal Behavior.
