On May 11th - 13th, 2008, an ION group, including Drs. Shu-Min Duan, Jia-Wei Zhou, Zhi-Qi Xiong and You-Sheng Shu , Ms. Yan Wang, Mr. Yi-Xi Gu, Mr. Hao Wu and Mrs. Ai-Qin Wang, visited Zunyi Medical College (ZYMC) in Guizhou Province.

After visiting the Pharmacology Laboratory, Core Laboratory and Cellular Engineering Laboratory, Drs. Shu-Min Duan, Zhi-Qi Xiong, and You-Sheng Shu gave talks entitled “Neuron-glia interactions－experiences in scientific research”, “A few tips for writing good grant applications”, “Animal models for research in neurological diseases – examples from epilepsy” and “Standard techniques in electrophysiology and their applications”.

The ION group also discussed with members of ZYMC about joint training programs for young ZYMC scientists.
