DU J iulin’s Lab Published Review about Structure and function in Artificial, Zebrafish and Human Neural Networks

Time:2023-05-17

On April 25, 2023, the journal Physics of Life Reviews published a review paper online entitled “Structure and Function in Artificial, Zebrafish and Human Neural Networks.” This study was a collaborative effort between the DU Jiulins research group at the Institute of Neuroscience, Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the JI Peng’s  research group atthe Institute of Brain-Inspired Intelligence Science and Technology,  Fudan University.

Over recent decades, physics-inspired network science methods have been extensively applied to the study of complex brain structure and dynamics phenomena. This review provides a brief description and discussion of the characterization of brain structure and functional networks. It covers major concepts and analytical methods in network science, as well as progress made in using these methods to study the structure and functional networks of human and zebrafish brain. The review is intended to serve as a reference for neuroscientists seeking to familiarize themselves with network science techniques and for researchers interested in exploring new application scenarios in neuroscience.

The review was completed by Dr. JI Peng, Dr. WANG Yufan, Dr. Thomas Peron, Dr. LI Chunhe, Dr. Jan Nagler and Dr. DU Jiulin. This work was supported by the Shanghai Municipality and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
